West Nile found in Terrebonne subdivision

HOUMA, La. (AP) – Mosquitoes in a Terrebonne Parish subdivision have tested positive for the West Nile virus.

Jessie Boudreaux Jr., owner of Cajun Mosquito Control, tells The Courier, that the samples were collected June 6 in the Oaklawn subdivision. Boudreaux’s company was contracted by Terrebonne Parish to control the pest population.

The virus was confirmed Friday and results were released earlier this week.
