It’s a complete loss for a Pineville family who’s home burned to the ground Saturday night on Billy Evans Road.
Around 9 p.m., the home of the Evans family went up in flames.
Several fire stations responded and were able to save neighboring homes from catching fire, but for the Evans it was too late.
Frances Evans, who owns the home with her husband, says if it wasn’t for their little dog they would have never made it out alive.
“Started barking, we woke up,” she said. “She usually sleeps at the foot. She got at the head of the bed and woke up and the entire bedroom was just smoke all the way to the floor. And, if it hadn’t been for this little dog, we would have not gotten out.”
The fire is still under investigation. But, the family says they believe that their hot water heater is the reason why the house caught on fire.
