$1 million bail set in East Feliciana Parish crash that killed 7

A state district judge has set bail at $1 million for the suspected drunken driver accused of vehicular homicide in the deaths of seven people in a May 30 head-on collision in East Feliciana Parish. The Advocate reports Brett Gerald had been jailed in the East Feliciana Parish Prison without bail since June 4.

NEW ORLEANS– News 2 has learned the only surviving victim in that horrific crash two weeks ago in Slaughter has died.

Family members tell News 2, 13-year old Roderick Johnson was taken off of life support today at a hospital in New Orleans.

Five family members and a family friend were all laid to rest two days ago.

The crash has now claimed the lives of seven people.

Brett Gerald is accused of causing the wreck. State Troopers say he was two times over the legal limit at the time of the crash. He remains in jail.
