Suspect arrested in St. Charles murder – Who Dat?

A teenager who was wanted for the murder of a St. Rose man last week turned himself in to authorities Wednesday night, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Keywine “Poppa” Bradford, 16, of 126 First St. in St. Rose, was wanted in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Jared Mealey on on May 29 in the Preston Hollow subdivision in St. Rose.

Authorities were called to the area of Turtle Creek Drive, where Mealey lived, around 8:40 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Deputies arrived within minutes and found Mealey in the driver’s seat of a Chevrolet Impala. He had been shot multiple times and died on the scene.

The Impala, authorities said, was still in gear and had run over a mailbox and come to rest on a fire hydrant. The driver’s side windows were shattered.
