Holding an alcoholic beverage in one hand, Amacker took out the machete (out of his pants) and threatened to stab the woman.

A machete-wielding Houma man was arrested Sunday night after he removed the large knife from his pants and threatened a woman with it, police said.

Michael Amacker, 48, 243 Magnolia St., was drunk when he started arguing with the woman on the 1100 block of Lafayette Street at shortly after 11:00 p.m., Houma Police said. Holding an alcoholic beverage in one hand, Amacker took out the machete and threatened to stab the woman.

Police were called and the machete was seized. The woman was uninjured and Amacker was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, illegal carrying of a weapon and disturbing the peace by intoxication.

Amacker is being held in the Terrebonne Parish jail in lieu of a $973 bond.
